ABOUT
Star Performance Dog Sports Coaching is the creation of Clover Ward, built to help people in Tasmania discover the exciting world of dog sports. Clover has been training dogs since the age of 10, starting with basic tricks and obedience. However, it all changed with the discovery of agility a year later, and she has been passionate about dog sports ever since. Clover has been competing in Agility since 2012, Rally in 2014, Scentwork and Tricks in 2023 and Obedience in 2024.
She has competed at 3 Agility Nationals events - South Australia in 2016, Victoria in 2018 and NSW in 2024.
My training philosophy is all about pushing the limits, creating a deeper understanding and working within each team's goals. I believe training should always be a positive experience for both dogs and handlers. The ultimate foundation for me is creating a brilliant relationship with your dog.
Notable achievements include:
3rd Place (heat) in Novice Agility 600 SA Nationals
Global Agility Ambassador awarded by Susan Garrett
1st Place (heat) in Excellent Jumping 500 NSW Nationals
Dogs Australia Licenced Agility Judge in 2024
Rally Champion title with Laken in 2024

THE STAR PERFORMERS
The inspiration for starting my own dog sports coaching business comes from my own dogs. They are ultimately my greatest teachers, each of them so different but talented in their own unique ways. Meet my current dogs who are helping me, to help you!
TREK

Trek is the wild child of the family, he is primarily my mother's sports dog but I do train and compete with him from time to time. He lives for agility and all things fast - the biggest challenge with this superstar is learning how to balance drive. Trek curently has his JD, RE, TKN and SWN titles.
LAKEN

Laken is my trusty sidekick. He is up for anything, as long as it involves him. His favourite sport was agility, but since retiring he has been loving his trick training. He was the dog that made learning super fun for me - so willing to please no matter what we were trying. His biggest challenge has been accepting his little brothers are taking over the agility world! He currently has his Rally Champion, JDM, AD, GD, SD, TKN, SWN and RM titles.
DREAM

Dream is the baby of the family, and is maturing into a super smart young dog. We are primarily focussing on agility - a sport he finds super motivating. He encourages me to think outside the box a lot with his training which has been great. The biggest challenge for him is building drive into sports that aren't agility. Which is proving to be quite successful, given he currently has his RN and TKN titles.
ALASKA

Alaska is a special girl who taught me that not all dogs are suited to the dog sports environment. She retired from all sports around the age of 4 and now is happy going on walks and having training at home. Before retiring, she got her JD and RE titles.
